Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin University is gearing up to launch LIFE@TU, an exciting new weekly educational program catered to individuals aged 50 and above. Set to commence on September 8, the program aims to offer a diverse array of learning opportunities, covering a wide range of subjects and interests.

LIFE@TU will host its sessions in the Osceola Theatre, situated within TU’s Gillmor Student Center. Each week, from 10 a.m. to noon, participants will have the chance to engage in ten non-credit classes per semester.

The curriculum promises to be both enriching and diverse, encompassing subjects such as history, architecture and restoration, science, nature, technology, arts and literature, culture and diversity, local events, community connections, travel, and ethics, among others.

The program boasts an impressive lineup of instructors, comprising both current and retired faculty from Tiffin University and Heidelberg University, as well as guest speakers. Moreover, future course topics will be shaped by input from the LIFE@TU members, ensuring the program remains responsive to their interests and needs.

TU President Lillian Schumacher expressed her enthusiasm about the initiative.

“I am excited to invite members from the community and alumni to our campus and engage them in conversations about topics they care about,” said Schumacher. “I believe this is a way for Tiffin University to give back to the wonderful community in which our campus resides. It is my hope that, once here, LIFE@TU members will meet new friends, make connections with our students and become involved in the life of Tiffin University.”

In addition to the enriching learning experiences, registered attendees will enjoy several perks. Among them are discounted lunches at Cole Dining Hall on class days, free access to athletic events and campus activities, as well as preferred seating at theater and music performances.

For those interested in joining LIFE@TU, an annual membership, which grants access to 20 classes, is priced at $150 per person. Additionally, semester and individual passes are available. To sweeten the deal, early birds can take advantage of a discounted rate of $140 if they sign up before August 19. Attendees can easily register online by visiting tiffin.edu/academics/lifetu.
