Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin Municipal Arts Commission (TMAC) and the City of Tiffin have announced an exciting opportunity for local artists.

They are currently accepting applications for a new mural to be installed in downtown Tiffin. The chosen mural will adorn the wall of 45 S. Washington Street, facing Cherry Alley, and will measure approximately 20 feet wide by 10 feet high.

To ensure the preservation of the building’s surface while accurately showcasing the selected artwork, the mural will be printed on 3M surface wrap, an innovative material.

Interested artists who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications at this link. Full details regarding the submission process can be found at this link.

Applicants must either be residents of Tiffin or attend school in Tiffin. The deadline for submitting entries is 5 p.m. on July 31, 2023.

The artist whose submission is chosen as the winning design will be awarded a $100 stipend for their artwork. The stipend will be paid upon submission and approval of the Artist Release form by the City of Tiffin.

In addition to this exciting mural project, TMAC recently announced the establishment of their non-profit organization, the Tiffin Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts (TFAA).

Ryan Poignon, the President of TMAC, shared their mission statement, stating, “TFAA is a regional, charitable nonprofit organization that serves to support, promote, teach, and present the arts created, produced, or sponsored by Tiffin’s TMAC. TFAA provides funding and sponsors events and programs to cultivate TMAC’s engaging artistic environment, welcoming individuals of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. Furthermore, TFAA extends its support to artists through scholarships and grants.”
