Tiffin University appoints four academic deans
Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin University has announced the appointment of four academic deans to key positions within the institution. Dr. Daniel Clark, Dr. Stacey Floyd, Mr. Bradley Rees, and Dr. Mark Sabo will be leading various schools, bringing their expertise and dedication to their respective roles.
Dr. Daniel Clark, who has been serving as the Vice Provost for the Center of Online and Extended Learning, will now assume the role of Founding Dean of the School of Education and Extended Learning. With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Clark’s focus on online, distance, and adult education makes him a valuable addition to the leadership team. He holds a Master of Science degree in instructional design, development, and evaluation from Syracuse University, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree in adult education from North Dakota State University.
“I am happy to accept this additional assignment as Dean of the new School of Education and Extended Learning,” said Clark. “In my time at Tiffin, I have come to appreciate the advantages and opportunities we enjoy, and I am convinced that institutions like TU are in the best position to lead in this new era of innovation for higher education.”
Dr. Stacey Floyd, who has been with Tiffin University for five years, will be assuming the role of Dean of General Education and Teaching Innovation. With over two decades of experience in higher education, Dr. Floyd brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and English, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree in English from the University of Kentucky.
“As a long-term advocate for undergraduate education and meeting those students where they are, I look forward to supporting our talented general education faculty in implementing innovative pedagogies to reach our undergrads and give them a firm base for the rest of their education,” said Floyd.
Mr. Bradley Rees, who has been with Tiffin University for an impressive 27 years, will serve as the Founding Dean of the School of Creative and Media Arts. With his extensive academic and professional experience in choral conducting, vocal jazz performance, and arts entrepreneurship, Mr. Rees is well-suited to lead the School of Creative and Media Arts. He holds a master’s degree in choral conducting from the University of Northern Colorado and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in music education from Boston University.
“I have always been impressed with the faculty I get to work with in our school,” said Rees. “I am proud of the work we’ve already done together revamping our digital media degree program. With the addition of multiple professional tracks, particularly a new one in sports media, we’ll be able to attract students who can custom-design their studies to prepare them for multiple career paths in multimedia content creation.”
Dr. Mark Sabo, who has been with Tiffin University for nine years, will assume the role of Founding Dean of the School of Science, Technology, and Health. Dr. Sabo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in analytical chemistry from Michigan State University. With his extensive experience in educational leadership, Dr. Sabo aims to strengthen and expand Tiffin University’s commitment to STEM education.
“I have been blessed to be a professor and part of the Tiffin University family since 2014,” said Sabo. “In my new role as Dean, I am excited to begin work with students, faculty, staff and the administration to strengthen and expand Tiffin University’s commitment to STEM education. Together, we will make a difference in our students’ lives and enhance their skills for success and a fulfilling career in this 21st century.”
Dr. Peter J. Holbrook, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, expressed confidence in the new appointments, saying, “I have had the distinct pleasure of working closely with these individuals through their roles as vice provosts and professors, and have every confidence they will lead these academic entities with professionalism and expertise. Their proven commitment to the modernization of academic practices will serve them well as they lead two of our newest schools in the proper directions.”
