Pedestrian struck by train in Tiffin

Tiffin, Ohio — A pedestrian/train accident occurred on Sunday night at approximately 10:11 p.m., prompting the Tiffin Police Department to launch an investigation.

The incident took place at the north side of the Riverside Drive viaduct, according to a notification from CSX received by the authorities.

The eastbound train involved in the accident is currently stationary on the tracks, resulting in the obstruction of vehicle traffic at the railroad intersections extending all the way back to Holmes Street.

Emergency responders from Tiffin Fire and Rescue swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the injured 15-year-old male pedestrian to Tiffin Mercy Hospital. Life Flight was also notified.

As of now, both the Tiffin Police Department and CSX are working together to investigate the incident. No additional information regarding the accident is available at this time.
