Tiffin man seriously injured after being struck by car: OSHP
Tiffin, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigating a severe injury crash that occurred Wednesday at approximately 3:53 p.m. in Hopewell Township, Seneca County. The incident occurred on S. Township Road 119 south of Township Road 18.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 67-year-old Sherri Hare, of McCutchenville, was driving a 1998 Buick Park Avenue southbound on S. Township Road 119 when the vehicle collided with 44-year-old Michael Taylor, of Tiffin, who was walking with a bicycle southbound on the right pavement edge of the road.
The collision resulted in incapacitating injuries for Taylor, who was subsequently flown by Mercy Health Life Flight to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
Hare was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was not injured.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the accident, which is still under investigation.
The Bascom Fire & EMS Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Mercy Health Life Flight, and Reinhart Auto Body provided assistance at the scene.
