Fremont woman killed in US 6 crash: OSHP

Fremont, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on US 6 near mile post 17. The incident was reported to law enforcement personnel on Monday morning at approximately 6:05 a.m.

According to the on-scene investigation conducted by troopers, the crash involved a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Judith K. Rapp, a 67-year-old resident of Fremont.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on US 6 when it crossed the center median and entered the eastbound lanes of traffic. Subsequently, the vehicle veered off the south side of the roadway.

During the course of the accident, Rapp’s vehicle collided with a fence row, a utility pole, and came to a final rest in another ditch. Rapp was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her body was then transported to the Lucas County Morgue. The precise cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.

Assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the scene were several local agencies, including the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont Fire Department, Sandusky County Life Squad, Sandusky County Coroner’s Office, and Ash’s Towing.
