Bloomville, Ohio — Tavern 19, a new bar in Bloomville, is set to open its doors on Saturday, April 8, following months of renovation.

Pamela Hoffert, Ryan Hoffert, and Aaron Gernert have been working on the location at 31 South Marion Street since January 2022 to turn it into a destination for the residents of Bloomville and Seneca County.

“We have big plans for the space,” said Ryan Hoffert. “By mid-summer or early-fall we plan to add a kitchen and new patio in the lot next door to create a new outdoor space for people to enjoy.”

Once the kitchen is added, customers can expect to find pizzas, subs, and homestyle meals on the menu. In the meantime, the grand opening celebration on Saturday will feature fresh smoked BBQ in the evening.

The interior of Tavern 19 has been decorated with items gathered from around the country, including a room with a fireplace in the hood of an old pickup truck that features items from a recent trip to Tennessee, honoring the heritage of that state.

Bloomville Mayor Dave Auble expressed his excitement for the new business. “I’m excited that Tavern 19 is opening in Bloomville,” he said. “Mainstreet Bloomville is a great location, and I look forward to more new businesses opening here to serve our community.”

Initially, Tavern 19 will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. as the owners learn the patterns and needs of the community. Anyone interested in working as a bartender at the new establishment can reach out to the owners by messaging Tavern 19 on Facebook.
