Fostoria, Ohio — Todd Reisner, 50, was sentenced Tuesday to five years in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections for his involvement in the drug overdose death of Rochel A. Valenzuela, 35.

On March 4, 2021, Fostoria Police Department responded to a report of a deceased female at 231 E. High St., Fostoria. Upon arrival, officers found Valenzuela deceased due to a suspected drug overdose.

Further investigation by the Seneca County Drug Task Force — METRICH Enforcement Unit, who was called in for assistance by the Fostoria Police Department, determined Reisner as a suspect in providing the drugs that contributed to Valenzuela’s death.

On October 26, 2022, the Seneca County Grand Jury indicted Reisner on three counts, including trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony; corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; and involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony.

Reisner accepted a plea deal for reduced charges and pleaded guilty to trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony; attempted corrupting another with drugs, a third-degree felony; and reckless homicide, a third-degree felony on April 11, 2023.

Judge Steve Shuff sentenced Reisner to five years in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.

Seneca County Drug Task Force — METRICH Enforcement Unit Coordinator, Det. Brandon Bell, stated, “Our unit accepts this sentence and believes we, along with the Seneca County Prosecutor’s Office, are working hard to hold these dealers accountable for their part in this epidemic that plagues our community. We will continue to target these dealers and fight for tougher sentences for these crimes moving forward.”
