Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin University has announced that Dr. Thomas Marben will become the new dean of the School of Business, effective May 1. He will be taking over from Dr. Terry Sullivan, who is now TU’s Vice Provost for Academics, Campus Programs.

According to Dr. Peter J. Holbrook, the Provost and Chief Academic Officer, Marben’s work at the School of Business has greatly improved the student educational experience through curriculum development and student engagement.

“The impact he has had is demonstrated by the fact that he was recognized with the ‘Excellence in Teaching’ award and selected as ‘Faculty Advisor of the Year’ by student government. I have every confidence in his leadership capabilities, and I look forward to how he will guide our oldest academic entity,” Holbrook said.

Marben, who joined Tiffin University in 2017, expressed his excitement for the new role.

“I continue to be impressed by the students, faculty, staff and administrators throughout the University,” said Marben. “I am very excited to support and serve the University in this new role as the dean for the School of Business. I look forward to continuing to transform lives through education and helping to form the leaders of tomorrow.”

Prior to joining Tiffin University, Marben worked in public and private accounting. He holds an undergraduate degree from Davenport University, an MBA from Central Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in Business Management with a concentration in accounting from Capella University.
