Tiffin, Ohio — The Tiffin Police Department announced Friday that two individuals have been apprehended and charged in connection with a robbery that occurred outside the U.S. Petro gas station in downtown Tiffin on Feb. 16, 2023.

Christian Knott, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile were both charged with robbery, a felony of the second degree, according to a press release from TPD.

Following an investigation into the incident, Knott turned himself in at the Tiffin Police Department on Tuesday, Feb. 28, while the juvenile refused to surrender to the authorities.

Consequently, the juvenile was taken into custody Friday at Tiffin Columbian High School, where was attending classes. At no point was anyone in the school in danger, and the decision to apprehend the juvenile was made with the utmost concern for the safety of all staff and students, according to the release.

The victim, who had just left the gas station, was attacked by the alleged offenders, who punched and kicked him while he was on the ground. The suspects searched through his belongings, took the cash he had, and destroyed his cellphone before fleeing the scene, according to the release.
