Heidelberg University Theatre to present ‘The SpongeBob Musical’

Tiffin, Ohio — Heidelberg University Theatre will be presenting “The SpongeBob Musical” to wrap up their season.

The showtimes are set for April 20, 21, and 22 at 7:30 p.m. with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on April 23. Tickets for the musical can be purchased online through gundlachtheatre.org.

In “The SpongeBob Musical,” SpongeBob and his friends in Bikini Bottom face a great challenge as their undersea world is on the brink of destruction. However, when all seems lost, an unlikely hero emerges to save the day. The show, based on the popular animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg, features original songs by a variety of artists such as Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, and David Bowie.

The cast of the show includes Wilhelmina Opferman as SpongeBob SquarePants, Zaria Keys as Patrick Star, Sarah Jewell as Sandy Cheeks, Ben Pollizi as Eugene Krabs, Amelia Hammond as Sheldon Plankton, Jacob Reuter as Squidward Tentacles, and Natalie Joritz as Karen the Computer. Other residents of Bikini Bottom will be played by Natalie Kwansy-Jackson, Scooter Austin, Jack Mills, Jadon Muniz, Garrett Hummell, Lexi Lang, Jacob Frankart, Serria Allen, Dermot Healy, Ben Neiberlein, Cole Miller, McKenna Williams, Ashtyn Wolph, Kerryann Copenhaver, Lucas Ballinger, Rebecca Eppard, and Nick Talion.
