Gas leak in Tiffin prompts evacuations, street closures

Tiffin, Ohio — The City of Tiffin Street Department and Columbia Gas crews are currently responding to a gas leak at the intersection of Noble and Jackson, according to a press release from the city.

As a result, the local authorities have temporarily closed Noble and Hall streets from Oak St. to North Sandusky St., Jackson St. from Hall St. to Apple St., and Vine St. from Noble to Apple.

Additionally, the Fire Department has evacuated 361 Jackson, 357 Jackson, and 353 Jackson, as well as 251 Noble. It is unclear when the streets will be reopened, but the authorities are advising people to avoid the area unless absolutely necessary.
