Ella Street closure announced for bridge project pre-construction work

Tiffin, Ohio — The City of Tiffin has announced that Ella Street will be fully closed from Monday, March 6, through Friday, March 10, between Ella Street and Shepherd Drive.

The closure will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to facilitate pre-construction work ahead of the Ella Street Bridge Project. The City has restricted the closure to avoid drop-off and pick-up times for students at Tiffin Middle School.

According to the construction agreement, Ella Street will not be fully closed to traffic before Memorial Day to minimize the impact on residents and Tiffin City Schools. The project is expected to continue throughout the next few weeks, and the City of Tiffin’s social media accounts will provide regular updates.

The Ella Street Bridge Project will reconstruct the bridge and improve the surrounding roadway infrastructure. The construction work is expected to be completed by December 2023, and the bridge will be open to traffic at that time.

The City of Tiffin reminds motorists to observe all traffic signs and instructions from construction workers during the project’s duration.
