Authorities raid Findlay internet cafe, seize gaming devices and cash
Findlay, Ohio — On Monday at around 1:50 p.m., a search warrant was executed at the Lucky Dragon Internet Café located at 1107 Tiffin Ave., Findlay.
The operation was carried out by the Hancock County METRICH Drug Task Force, Findlay Police Department, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, agents from the Ohio Investigative Unit (Toledo District), and the City of Findlay Street Department.
The search was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into numerous complaints received from citizens regarding the business. The complaints included the use and sale of illegal narcotics by patrons inside the business, a reported overdose incident, and illegal cash payouts through the various gaming machines being operated, according to a press release from the Findlay Police Department.
As a result of the search, law enforcement seized 60 electronic video gaming devices (EGVD), 4 large tabletop EGVDs, 1 “Queen of Hearts” gaming board with payouts, and a total of $53,047 in cash from the gaming devices, payout monies, and business profits.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, the owner of the establishment may face charges of gambling and operating a gambling house.
