Fostoria Police Division welcomes new K9
Fostoria, Ohio — The Fostoria Police Division has welcomed its newest member to the force, a 20-month-old Dutch Shepherd named Bandit.
Bandit and his K9 handler, Fostoria Police Officer Jared Lindig, graduated from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Canine Academy on Feb. 6th.
Bandit’s arrival at the department has been met with enthusiasm from the Fostoria community, with many looking forward to seeing what this talented duo can do. The addition of a new canine officer will enhance the department’s ability to respond to calls and assist in investigations.
Bandit and Officer Lindig completed an extensive 10-week training program at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Canine Academy. The program included training in tracking, narcotic detection, apprehension, and obedience.
