Dollar Tree robbery suspect arrested in Fremont
Fremont, Ohio — A robbery was reported at the Dollar Tree on East State Street in Fremont at 11:39 a.m. on Friday.
The Fremont Police Department and Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. No weapon was involved, but the suspect used physical force to access the cash drawer and push away a clerk. No injuries were reported, according to a press release from the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office.
Sandusky County Detective Sergeant Brian McGrady located Nicholas D. Miller, of Shiloh, Ohio, near the intersection of Howland and Prospect Street at 11:47 a.m. Miller was walking from the direction of the robbery and appeared to be out of breath. He was wearing clothing that was not consistent with the weather and was detained by law enforcement, according to the release.
Miller attempted to run away from Sgt. McGrady, but was quickly apprehended. Further investigation revealed that Miller had a warrant for his arrest unrelated to the Dollar Tree robbery. In addition, evidence was discovered that resulted in several criminal charges for Miller, according to the release.
Miller was charged with robbery, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and vandalism, according to the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office website.
