Tiffin University’s Pfeiffer Library receives grant for technological innovations
Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin University’s Pfeiffer Library has received a grant of $4,978 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
The funds will be used to implement technological innovations at the library, including the creation of a print center set to open in fall 2023, according to a press release from the university.
The print center will feature a poster printer, Cricut machine, laminator, binding machine, and 3D printer to support hands-on learning for students. “These additions will provide opportunities for our students to experiment with trending technologies they may not otherwise encounter until they are practitioners in their chosen field,” said Luann Edwards, Pfeiffer Library director.
“This will help our students tremendously, no matter their chosen field of study,” said Dr. Peter J. Holbrook, Provost and Chief Academic Officer. “Whether it be forensic science, commercial music or accounting, each of our students will benefit from this new one-stop-shop for all their printing and project needs.”
The grant was administered by the State Library of Ohio.
