City Engineer reminds residents of resources for marking sewer lines
Tiffin, Ohio — The City of Tiffin Engineer’s office is reminding residents to call if they have any questions about the location of the sewer laterals running from their homes to the main line.
In the event of a dig notification to the Ohio Utilities Protection Service (OUPS), utility providers are required to mark their lines in the right of way with flags.
The City of Tiffin Public Works will mark sewer main lines in the right of way, but not the sewer laterals running to the home, as these are the responsibility of the homeowner.
As public projects continue throughout the community, residents are encouraged to contact the Engineer’s Office during normal business hours at (419) 448-5425 or email tif[email protected] to see if the office has information about their sewer laterals.
Contractors and residents should call the OUPS at 811 at least two business days before a planned dig to request utility markings. For more information, visit www.oups.org.
For residents with questions about the Omni Fiber construction project, email [email protected] or call 1 (844) 844-6664.
