Marion man killed in Richland County motorcycle accident: OSHP

Mansfield, Ohio — The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash which occurred on State Route 97 at Gass Road, Troy Township, Richland County.

The crash was reported Sunday at 6:05 p.m., according to OSHP.

The preliminary investigation shows a 2007 Ford Fusion being driven by 20-year-old Trenton Hoffer, of Mansfield, was traveling east on SR 97.

Two motorcycles were traveling west on SR 97: a 1998 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, driven by 60-year-old Jeffrey D. Kight, of Marion, and a 1999 Harley Davidson Night Train, driven by 54-year-old Scott T. Bullion, of Marion.

The 2007 Ford Fusion failed to yield while turning left onto Gass Road, striking both motorcycles.  

Kight, Bullion, and a female occupant of the 2007 Ford Fusion were transported to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. Kight passed away at the hospital, according to OSHP.

The Mansfield Post continues to investigate the crash. Troopers were assisted on scene by the Lexington Police Department, Troy Township Fire and EMS, Washington Township EMS,  Springfield Township Fire and EMS.
