Tiffin, Ohio — A representative from Ohio-based Omni Fiber attended Tiffin City Council’s meeting Monday to discuss the company’s commitment to bring expanded broadband access to the majority of Tiffin with a new 100% fiber network.
Once the estimated $10 million project is complete, the network will provide affordable and reliable high-speed internet to residents and businesses, according to a press release from the company. Services available will include fiber Internet plans up to 2 Gbps (2,000 Mbps), traditional and streaming TV options, and phone.
“Omni Fiber is excited to partner with city leadership on this transformative project to bring high-speed connectivity to the residents and businesses of Tiffin,” said Darrick Zucco, CEO of Omni Fiber. “Bringing this now essential technology to underserved areas across the Midwest is a mission we’re proud to support and appreciate the city of Tiffin joining us in this effort.”
Tiffin Mayor Dawn Iannantuono applauded the project.
“We are more connected than ever, and having more options for our residents to access high-speed internet is a benefit to everyone,” Iannantuono said. “We look forward to Omni Fiber’s investment in Tiffin which, once completed, will expand the consumer’s choice for access to fiber internet plans.”
Construction on the multi-month project will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with the first customers slated to have service installed in early 2023. Residents interested in being among the first to be installed once construction is complete can learn more or place a no-obligation pre-order at omnifiber.com, or by calling 844-844-OMNI (6664), Mon-Fri, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
