Man killed in Sandusky County single vehicle crash: OSHP

Scott Township, Ohio — A man was killed in a single vehicle crash that occurred Thursday evening in Sandusky County, according to the Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the crash after it was reported around 8 p.m. on County Road 32 just south of County Road 11 in Scott Township.

Investigators learned that a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 30-year-old Cody A. Shammo, of Gibsonburg, was traveling northbound on County Road 32.

Shammo’s vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and lost control, according to OSHP. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and overturned.

According to OSHP, Shammo was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, the Sandusky County Coroner’s Office, Rising Sun Fire Department, Kansas Fire Department, Bradner EMS, and Madison Motors.
