15-year-old arrested in Fostoria after allegedly stealing vehicle, running from cops

Fostoria, Ohio — A teenager was arrested Tuesday evening in Fostoria after allegedly stealing a vehicle and running from police.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., officers with the Fostoria Police Division observed a vehicle run a stop sign and attempted to stop the vehicle.
A short pursuit was initiated after the driver failed to stop, according to a release from FPD.
During the pursuit, officers were searching for the vehicle and discovered that the driver had lost control and drove the vehicle into Reservoir #2 near Lakeview Drive.
The driver exited the vehicle and ran from the scene. He was found and subsequently attempted to run from officers but was captured several blocks from the scene, according to the release.
A 15-year-old male was arrested and taken to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital as a precaution. During the investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from Findlay, police said.
The juvenile was released to a parent and will be facing several charges including theft of a motor vehicle and failure to comply.
