Fremont man killed in UTV crash

Fremont, Ohio — A Fremont man died Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash involving a utility task vehicle (UTV).
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at approximately 7:39 p.m. on Napoleon Road, west of Township Road 106, in Washington Township.
58-year-old Brock A. Kimmet, of Fremont, was the passenger in a green 2008 Polaris Ranger 700 UTV. 33-year-old Tyler P. Kimmet, of Fremont, was the driver of the UTV.
Troopers say the UTV was westbound on Napoleon Road when a black 2012 Ford F-150 driven by 57-year-old Steven M. Ziebold, of Helena, attempted to pass the UTV.
The UTV attempted to turn left into a private drive just as the Ford F-150 was passing.
The F-150 struck the UTV, which ran off the left side of the road and overturned, ejecting Brock Kimmet, who later died from his injuries.
Both Tyler Kimmet and Ziebold suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Alcohol and/or drug impairment are not suspected to be factors in the accident, which remains under investigation, troopers said.
