Tiffin, Ohio — Following appointment Wednesday evening by the Seneca County Republican Central Committee, Steve Lepard is again to represent the First Ward on Tiffin City Council, a position he had previously held for nearly 10 years.

Lepard was sworn into office by Law Director Brent Howard during a ceremony Thursday morning.

Lepard had served as a Council Member At-Large until December, having been elected twice to the position beginning in January 2014. Prior to that, he had served two terms as a First Ward council member, from February 2002-December 2011.

Using his experience having worked for a utility company prior to retirement, he served as the chair for the Streets, Sidewalks and Sewers Committee and most recently was the ADA Advisory Committee Representative and Downtown Development board representative.

“I am extremely humbled to be trusted by the Republican Central Committee to again represent the First Ward of the City of Tiffin,” Lepard said. “I have so appreciated my time on City Council and look forward to continuing to represent the people who first put me in office.”

Lepard is to serve out the remainder of the term, which had previously been held by Bridget Boyle before she took office as Council President at the beginning of the year.

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz said, “I’m thrilled to welcome Steve Lepard back to City Council, bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience back to this open seat. In my time on Council, I looked up to Steve for his guidance, and today I continue to look to him for his wisdom and partnership.”
