Tiffin, Ohio — A church in Tiffin got quite a surprise Tuesday morning after a deer jumped through a window and into the church.

At approximately 8:23 a.m., the Tiffin Police Department received a report that a deer jumped through a window at New Beginnings Assembly of God, 733 N. Sandusky St., and was running through the church.

A pre-school class was in session at the time of the incident, and the students were in a classroom with the door locked, according to a police report.

Upon arrival, police noticed “blood and glass everywhere,” and the deer appeared to be injured, according to the report.

The deer, an injured buck, was found in a back room of the church lying down.

Seneca County’s wildlife officer was called to the scene and the deer was eventually dispatched from the church.
