Portion of South Washington Street to be closed for road work starting Monday

Tiffin, Ohio — Beginning Monday, Oct. 18, South Washington Street from East Perry Street to East Market Street is to be closed as crews complete the stamped concrete sidewalk project.
City administration has made this decision out of a concern for safety of the road crews working on the project.
The closure is expected to last until Wednesday, Oct. 20.
Additional lane and turning restrictions will be in place along South Washington Street, but no other sections of road will be closed. Emergency vehicles will continue to have access as needed.
All businesses and offices on South Washington Street will have pedestrian access during the road closure. Free parking is available at City Lots 6 and 1 on Monroe and Madison streets and City Lot 3 on Jefferson Street.
City Lot 7 will still be accessible via an alley off Market Street, with traffic able to exit onto Monroe Street or Perry Street.
Court Street is accessible via an alley off Perry Street as well.
“The safety of the road crews and motorists is of our top concern,” said Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz. “By making this decision, it will greatly reduce the chance of an accident and allows crews to work more efficiently and complete the project on time.”
See the map for detailed information showing lane and turning restrictions as well as road closures.
