Tiffin University launches ‘TiffinKidz’ music program for area youth
Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin University is proud to launch TiffinKidz, a new take on the highly successful TU Kids Choir in which area youth can perform popular music and participate in recording projects in TU’s professional recording studio.
TiffinKidz will complete an EP of exclusive original arrangements of a variety of pop music, and shoot music videos.
TiffinKidz meets in TU’s Performing Arts Lab each Friday starting on September 24, at 4 p.m.
Registration is now open at tiffinmusic.com/tiffinkidz.
While the group’s focus turns largely to recording projects this year, TiffinKidz will continue to be featured as performers in TU’s annual holiday program at The Ritz Theatre. Christmas at The Ritz will be presented this year on Saturday, December 4, at 7 p.m., with tickets available soon from The Ritz box office.
Carter Bennett will serve as TiffinKidz’ director and producer, writing and producing all the instrumental parts and tracks that will accompany the kids’ singing. Bennett is a junior commercial music major at TU, a Wisconsin native and an established presence on social media as a singer and songwriter.
The TU Kids Choir has a successful 12-year history serving community youth, beginning in 2009 as an afterschool program at Krout Elementary School and moving to the TU campus, which has hosted hundreds of kids from more than ten schools since its founding. TiffinKidz is made possible by the generosity of Diana Kirk.
