Two suspects arrested after police pursuit in Findlay

Findlay, Ohio — Two men were arrested Monday after leading Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a pursuit.
At approximately 3:21 p.m., a trooper from the Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol attempted to perform a traffic stop on a 2021 Chevrolet Malibu on I-75 near mile post 161 for a following too close violation.
The Malibu did not stop and was pursued southbound on I-75 before turning southbound onto North Main Street.
After turning west on Highland Drive, the Malibu struck two sign posts and was disabled.
The driver of the Malibu, Lonnie R. Barnes, was taken into custody at the scene.
The passenger, Lamonte D. Lester, was taken into custody by officers from the Findlay Police Department after a short foot pursuit.
While officers investigated the crash, they discovered a large amount of marijuana in the vehicle.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol were joined by officers from the Findlay Police Department during the pursuit.
Barnes and Lester were incarcerated on felony drug possession and felony fleeing charges.
