Fostoria, Ohio — A Fostoria man was arrested Thursday evening after leading police on a foot pursuit.

At approximately 6:44 p.m., officers with the Fostoria Police Division spotted 46-year-old Ryan J. Johnson, who had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation stemming from an assault charge out of the Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court.

Police say when he noticed them, Johnson fled along the 1100 block of Buckley Street behind houses and into a field west of Lynn Street.

Officers surrounded the field and were assisted by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit in their search for Johnson.

According to police, Johnson immediately surrendered upon seeing the K-9 unit, and was taken into custody without further incident.

Johnson was escorted out of the woods and transported to the Seneca County Jail, where he will also be charged with obstruction of official business, a second-degree misdemeanor.
