Tiffin, Ohio — A former publisher of the Tiffin Advertiser-Tribune has been indicted by a Seneca County grand jury on a felony theft charge.
55-year-old Christopher A. Dixon, of Tiffin, was charged with aggravated theft, a third-degree felony.
According to court documents, between 2011 and 2019, Dixon allegedly falsified reimbursement forms to steal between $150,000 and $750,000 from West Virginia-based Ogden Newspapers Inc., the parent company of the A-T.
Dixon was indicted on Apr. 21 and was booked into the Seneca County Jail on a $500,000 bond. Dixon is still at the jail as of Friday afternoon.
An arraignment hearing in the case is scheduled for May 5 at 10:30 a.m.
The case will be overseen by Judge Steve C. Shuff of the Seneca County Common Pleas Court.
According to his indictment, the penalty for an aggravated theft charge carries a maximum sentence of 36 months, and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
