Tiffin, Ohio — A Tiffin woman who police say fled a fatal hit-skip crash in November has pleaded not guilty to her charges.
33-year-old Carrie M. Conner, who was indicted last week on felony charges of failure to stop after an accident and tampering with evidence, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in Seneca County Common Pleas Court.
Conner’s bond was set at $15,000 with 10% allowed, and she was bonded out Monday.
The crash occurred November 16, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m. on SR 53 near milepost 15, in Pleasant Township, Seneca County.
Amanda G. Borer, 35, of Tiffin, entered SR 53 from the west, in pursuit of a family dog.
Conner, also of Tiffin, was traveling north on SR 53. Conner’s vehicle struck Borer in the northbound lane of SR 53.
After striking Borer, Conner fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Conner’s vehicle, a 2015 Honda Civic, was recovered Tuesday at a residence in Seneca County. Damage and debris located at the scene matched the vehicle that was recovered.
Borer suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office by the Seneca County Coroner’s Office.
Deputies from the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Conner on Friday. She is incarcerated at the Seneca County Jail pending arraignment.
