The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post investigated a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred November 16, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m.
The crash occurred on state Route 53 near milepost 15 in Pleasant Township, Seneca County.
Amanda G. Borer, 35, Tiffin, ran onto state Route 53 while chasing after a family dog. Carrie M. Conner, 33, Tiffin, was driving north on state Route 53 and struck Borer, who succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Following the crash, Conner fled the scene.
The next day, Conner’s vehicle, a 2015 Honda Civic, was located at a residence in Seneca County. Damage and debris from the scene matched the recovered vehicle.
Upon completion of the investigation, the case was presented to the Seneca County Grand Jury.
Conner was indicted on felony charges of failure to stop after an accident and tampering with evidence, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Deputies from the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Conner on Friday. She is incarcerated at the Seneca County Jail pending arraignment.
