New brewery to open in Downtown Tiffin

Tiffin, Ohio — A local group of craft beer enthusiasts have purchased a building in Downtown Tiffin, with plans to open a new brewery.
The brewery, Hoptometry Brewing Company, will be located at 190 S. Washington St., which formerly housed Dr. Robert Shreiner’s eye care office — hence the name of the brewery: hops (a key ingredient in certain beers) and optometry.
Owners Bryan Sutter, Rick Sutter, and Zack Allen plan to have their brewery up and running in 2022, according to Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz.
The brewery will be the third locally-owned brewery in Tiffin upon opening.
“This is especially neat because Tiffin has had a long and storied history with the beer making industry prior to Prohibition,” Montz said in a Facebook post announcing the news.
