Tiffin, Ohio — In honor of Tiffin’s Bicentennial in 2022, a group of local leaders have come together to help plan activities to celebrate the milestone.
Beginning now, residents may support these efforts with the purchase of commemorative glass pieces from Hawkes Crystal. A portion of each sale will go toward events to celebrate the bicentennial in 2022.
Right now at Hawkes Crystal there are several examples of items with the official Tiffin 200th anniversary logo with items ranging in price from $20 to more than $100.
Additionally, owner Aidan Scully will engrave the logo on other items available at the store or for a fee the logo can be added to items that are brought in.
“Glass has been part of Tiffin for well over 100 years,” Scully said. “I thought it would be a nice touch for Hawkes Crystal to be involved and help to celebrate the town’s anniversary.”
Glass pieces featuring the bicentennial logo will be available from now through the end of 2022. Additionally, the purchase of a glass souvenir will enter the buyer into a drawing for a special platter featuring the logo.
Hawkes Crystal, located at 207 S. Washington St., is open 1-5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays or by appointment by calling (419) 448-4286.
