Tiffin, Ohio — The Seneca County Democratic Party has selected Nancy Grandillo to succeed Mary Puffenberger on the Seneca County Board of Elections.
Puffenberger, a Democrat, is retiring from her seat on the board. The local Democrats voted Thursday to select Grandillo to fill the position.
Grandillo was initially challenged for the seat by Devin Black, the Seneca County Democratic Party’s treasurer. However, Black, who unsuccessfully ran for Sandusky County Commissioner before moving to Tiffin, withdrew his application early Thursday before the vote took place.
Previously, Grandillo unsuccessfully ran for the Fourth Ward seat on Tiffin City Council in 2019. She currently serves on the Tiffin Shade Tree and Beautification Commission, a position she was appointed to by Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz, as well as on the Tiffin Bicentennial Committee.
Grandillo will join fellow Democrat James Fruth along with Republicans David Koehl and James Cline on the board.
