OSHP: Two women hospitalized with serious injuries following crash in Seneca County
Pleasant Township, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigating a single-vehicle, serious injury crash that occurred Saturday morning at approximately 9:42 a.m.
The crash occurred on Lamalie Rd. south of Fannal Hall Rd., in Pleasant Township, Seneca County.
Jaime Frum, 31, from Orrville, Ohio, was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion, north on Lamalie Road.
Brianna Smith, 18, from Wooster, Ohio was a passenger sitting in the front seat. Ms. Frum was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of her vehicle going down the hill.
She went off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and went off the left side of the roadway.
She struck a guardrail and bridge abutment which caused her vehicle to go airborne. Her vehicle jumped the creek and overturned causing both occupants to be ejected.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Rush’s Towing.
Ms. Frum and Ms. Smith were not wearing their seatbelts, suffered serious injuries and were transported from the scene by Life Flight to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
The crash remains under investigation and alcohol and/or drug usage is not suspected at this time.
Assisting agencies include Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Township Fire Department, Mercy Health Life Flight, Tiffin EMS, North Central EMS, Rush’s Towing, and Pleasant Township.
