Fostoria, Ohio — Two men were sentenced to jail this week after stealing multiple items from a Dollar General store in Fostoria on two separate occasions.

At approximately 3:25 p.m. on Nov. 16, 2020, an officer with the Fostoria Police Division was dispatched to the Dollar General store, located at 1515 N. Countyline St., for a report of a theft.

Store employees told the officer that on Nov. 14, the two men came into the store and stole a Roku, two packs of Fireball, and a Smart pack, according to a police report.

The next night, on Nov. 15, the two men came back to the store and stole an Energizer Doorbell, five packs of Tyson boneless chicken, and two bottles of Moscato wine. During this trip, one of the men urinated against a portion of the shelves holding store products.

The two men then exited the store again without paying for the items, according to a police report.

Upon reviewing security camera footage, a Fostoria police officer was able to immediately identify the two men from previous incidents as 27-year-old Richard Miller, of Fostoria, and 27-year-old Lebron Carr, of Cleveland.

The combination of these two thefts resulted in a total loss of $153.13 for Dollar General, and all products in the area where Carr urinated had to be marked off due to possible contamination.

Miller was charged with two counts of theft, both first-degree misdemeanors. Miller pleaded no contest and was found guilty on both counts. Miller was ordered to pay a fine of $150 and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 160 days suspended. Miller must serve probation for two years with special conditions, and he was served with a no-trespass order for Dollar General.

Carr was charged with three counts of theft, all first-degree misdemeanors; one count of criminal damaging, a second-degree misdemeanor; and one count of public indecency, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Carr pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
