Tiffin University elects new members to Board of Trustees
Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin University has elected three new members to its Board of Trustees, the school announced in a press release this week.
TU Alumnus Jeff Beard, along with Jane Dell and Cindy Dunne were elected to the university’s Board of Trustees, according to Claire Johansen, Board Chair.
“We are pleased to welcome our new Trustees to the Board,” said Johansen. “Each of them brings new gifts and talents that will enhance the growth of Tiffin University.”
Jeff Beard
Jeff Beard is President and CEO of SSNB, Inc. and its subsidiary Standing Stone Bank in Lancaster, Ohio. He joined the bank in 2007 and served in the position of Vice President and CFO before becoming President and CEO in January 2013. Beard has also served on the Board for both SSNB, Inc. and Standing Stone Bank since 2011. He started his career as a financial institution auditor with Crowe LLP, followed by a stint at Wendy’s as a manager of financial reporting before joining Standing Stone. Beard was also briefly involved with a start-up bank in central Ohio.
Beard earned his BBA from Tiffin University, MBA from Capital University, is a CPA and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. He is currently the Chairman of the Fairfield County Foundation Board, Vice Chairman of the Route 33 Development Alliance Board and a member of the Ohio Bankers League Board. Beard has completed the Fairfield Leadership program, is a Lancaster Rotarian and was the 2018 Fairfield County United Way Campaign Chair. He is a former member of the Tiffin University Alumni Board and Board of Counselors, the United Way Impact Council, Lancaster Rotary Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters Board and Ohio Banker League Bank Services Board.
Beard resides in Pickerington, Ohio, with his wife Michelle and their three boys.
Jane Dell
Jane Dell is a Managing Partner and Attorney at Dell Burtis Law, Ltd., an estate planning, elder law, business planning and real estate law firm. She has extensive experience planning and administering estates and trusts, protecting assets from long-term care expenses and transferring farms and businesses from one generation to the next. Dell is also a Licensed Title Agent and Owner of Professional Title Services, Ltd. As a licensed title agent, Dell conducts real estate closings, issues title insurance and advises clients on all legal issues related to buying and selling real property.
In addition to Dell’s legal practice, she serves several community organizations. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, the Good Shepherd Home and the Mary Lay Home. Dell is a former Board member for the Tiffin Community Foundation and Tiffin Calvert Educational Foundation. She has also served on committees for St. Mary’s Church and was an interviewer for the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program.
A graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, Dell served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Sarah Evans Barker of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University.
Dell resides in Tiffin, Ohio, with her husband and firm partner, Paul Burtis. They have three adult children, Cecilia, Jack and Sophia.
Cindy Dunne
Cindy Dunne is known for her business savvy, kind spirit and roots in the Tiffin community. She is the President and Owner of ECS Billing & Consulting South (ECS Solutions, Inc.), a firm that provides billing and consulting services to Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health and Hospice organizations. As the leader of ECS, she successfully enables her clients to achieve better cash flow and financial success through quality billing services with a top-notch team.
Dunne has over 36 years of experience in the health insurance and billing industry. Her interest in the field started as she grew up in the pharmacy and nursing homes owned by her parents. Also, one of her first jobs was as a Programmer Analyst and Systems Department Manager for a subsidiary of what is now Anthem. By working in business for this period, Dunne has discovered the importance of continuing education and that universities need to build strong partnerships with businesses in their communities.
Dunne is a philanthropist that cares about people and her community. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Heidelberg University, where she completed a double major in business administration and computer science. She is a frequent seminar presenter and trainer related to Skilled Nursing Facility revenue cycle topics due to her success and insight in this industry. Dunne has served on the HIDA Consolidated Billing Task Force, the Ohio Health Care Association Payment for Services Committee and OHCA Billing Subcommittee. She was founder and Chairman of the Medicaid Initiative for LTC and was Chairman of the OANH Billing Subcommittee.
