Margeretta Township, Ohio — The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Tuesday evening at State Route 101 and Bardshar Road in Erie County.
70-year-old David J. Luska, of Lakeside Marblehead, was driving a red 2017 Buick Envision southwest bound on SR 101 around 5:55 p.m.
A gray 2018 Chrysler 300 driven by 35-year-old Scott W. Metz, of Sandusky, was northbound on Bardshar Road approaching the stop sign for SR 101.
Metz failed to yield at the intersection and pulled into the path of Luska. Luska’s vehicle then struck Metz’s.
Both vehicles ran off the northwest corner of the intersection and Luska’s vehicle overturned after impact.
Metz was wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was treated and released at the scene.
Luska’s vehicle had a front seat passenger, 66-year-old Marilyn A. Luska, also of Lakeside Marblehead.
David and Marilyn Luska were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. David sustained serious injuries and was transported to Fireland’s Hospital.
Marilyn Luska was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Erie County Sheriff’s Department, Sandusky Fire Department, Margeretta Township Fire Department, Margeretta Squad 112, Sandusky Squad 917, Perkin’s Towing, and Wilson’s Towing.
