Tiffin woman dies after being struck by vehicle on SR 53; suspect wanted for questioning

Tiffin, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigating a car versus pedestrian fatal crash that occurred Monday at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The crash occurred on SR 53 near milepost 15, in Pleasant Township, Seneca County.

Amanda G. Borer, 35, of Tiffin, entered SR 53 from the west, in pursuit of a family dog.

Carrie M. Conner, 33, of Tiffin, was traveling north on SR 53. Conner’s vehicle struck Borer in the northbound lane of SR 53.

After striking Borer, Conner fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Conner’s vehicle, a 2015 Honda Civic, was recovered Tuesday at a residence in Seneca County. Damage and debris located at the scene matched the vehicle that was recovered.

Borer suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office by the Seneca County Coroner’s Office.

Conner, whose seatbelt status and injury status is unknown, fled the scene and her whereabouts are unknown at this time. She is wanted for questioning for her alleged involvement in the crash.

Charges are pending on Conner and the crash remains under investigation. Alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown at this time.

Assisting agencies include the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Old Fort Fire Department, North Central EMS, the Seneca County Coroner’s Office and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).
