Tiffin, Ohio — The City of Tiffin on Wednesday dedicated the alley behind the local United Way office as “Pat DeMonte Way” to honor the organization’s longtime director who retired earlier this year.
“For years, Pat has been the backbone of the giving community in Tiffin, raising millions of dollars to assist those less fortunate throughout Seneca County,” Mayor Aaron Montz wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday.
“As a way of saying thank you to Pat, we named the alley behind the United Way office in her honor, as Pat DeMonte way. Enjoy your retirement, Pat!”
DeMonte announced her retirement from the organization back in April.
According to the United Way website, throughout the last 75 years the organization has raised over $18.5 million to directly go to programs, organizations, and individuals in the Tiffin and Seneca County community.
