Ohio shatters COVID-19 daily case record, reporting 4,229 new cases Staff




The Ohio Department of Health reported 4,229 new confirmed and probable cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Tuesday, above the state’s 21-day reported daily case rolling average of 2,596.

The batch of new cases brings the state’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 226,138.

33 additional deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the state’s total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 5,373.

Hospitalizations are up by 213 compared to Monday’s data, making for a total of 19,615 reported hospitalizations statewide.

Admissions to intensive care units are up by 25, with a total of 3,924 ICU admissions throughout Ohio.
