Ohio again breaks daily record, reporting 4,961 new cases of COVID-19 Staff




The Ohio Department of Health reported 4,961 new confirmed and probable cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Thursday, above the state’s 21-day reported daily case rolling average of 2,825.

The batch of new cases brings the state’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 235,170.

33 additional deaths were reported Thursday, bringing the state’s total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 5,461.

Hospitalizations are up by 214 compared to Wednesday’s data, making for a total of 20,015 reported hospitalizations statewide.

Admissions to intensive care units are up by 23, with a total of 3,969 ICU admissions throughout Ohio.
