Montz encourages holiday gift shoppers to buy local: ‘This year has been especially tough’

Tiffin, Ohio — Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz on Monday encouraged holiday gift shoppers to buy from local businesses, reminding folks that this year has been “especially tough” for small shops and restaurants.

“As we approach the holiday season, please remember your local stores and restaurants,” Montz wrote in a post to his official Facebook page. “This year has been especially tough, and many are holding on by little more than a string.”

Montz asked shoppers to “make an effort to visit businesses you may have forgotten about or have not been in recently – you never know what neat gift ideas you may discover.”

“At the end of the day, it’s our locally owned businesses that support our kids, charities, and our community. Now, it’s our turn to support them in their greatest hour of need,” the mayor added.
