Tiffin, Ohio — A Tiffin yoga studio has announced it will close next month, but the owner plans to continue teaching yoga at other community venues.
Chuck Burmeister of Yoga Chuck Health & Wellness, located at 384 W. Market St., announced the news Thursday.
“COVID has forced me in this new direction,” Burmeister said. “Since mid-March, it has not been a secret that we have not turned a profit with the yoga studio. With no end in sight and the continued low numbers in-studio and online I will be closing the studio on November 20th depending on the rental of the studio space.”
Burmeister said the building owner is allowing him to continue teaching in some capacity until a new tenant fills the location.
“Once we officially close the studio we will look for an alternate place to teach. It could be a place like a church or a place with enough room for us to continue our classes. The pay for these classes would be a donation only and the money would go to the location we teach at or a charity in their name,” Burmeister said.
Burmeister said he is sorry to see it come to this, and that it was never his plan to close the studio.
“I completely understand those who have not returned to the studio. I’m all about keeping you and your family healthy. Thank you all for supporting me over the past 11 years, as I’ve taught yoga at multiple locations and venues.”
