It’s a new record.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose said the 2020 General Election has already featured the most absentee ballots requested of any election in Ohio history.

As of Oct. 2, a total of 2,154,235 absentee ballots had been requested in Ohio.

That’s nearly double how many were requested at this point in the 2016 presidential election cycle.

Ohioans still have several more weeks to request an absentee ballot.

The eventual completed ballot must be postmarked by Nov. 2 (the day before the election) in order to count. Or voters can drop off their ballot at their county’s drop box.
