Ohio reports more than 2,000 new COVID-19 cases for third day in a row Staff

The Ohio Department of Health reported 2,148 new confirmed and probable cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Friday, above the state’s 21-day reported daily case rolling average of 1,386.

The batch of new cases brings the state’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 177,991.

16 additional deaths were reported Friday, bringing the state’s total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 5,054.

Hospitalizations are up by 86 compared to Thursday’s data, making for a total of 16,910 reported hospitalizations statewide.

Admissions to intensive care units are up by 15, with a total of 3,522 ICU admissions throughout Ohio.
