Troopers investigating three vehicle fatal crash on SR 2
Huron, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a three vehicle fatal crash that occurred Thursday at approximately 8:20 p.m.
The crash occurred on State Route 2 near mile marker 17 in the city of Huron.
Christopher Cannon, of Cleveland, was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger eastbound on SR 2 approaching the Bogart Road overpass.
Cannon’s right rear tire blew out causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Cannon traveled off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. He then spun back into the roadway partially blocking both lanes of traffic.
John Corbin, of Huron, was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide and was in the left lane of travel when he struck the right rear of Cannon’s vehicle and was ejected from his motorcycle.
Susan Corbin, also of Huron, was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson Fat Bob was in the right lane of travel and struck the right front of Cannon’s vehicle and was also ejected from her motorcycle.
John Corbin sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Susan Corbin sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported by EMS to Firelands Hospital. She was also not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Cannon did not sustain any injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Ohio Department of Transportation, U.S. Border Patrol, Huron Fire & EMS, Wilson’s Towing, and Fosters Funeral Home.
The crash remains under investigation.
