Ohio reports 973 new cases of coronavirus, 26 more deaths Staff

The Ohio Department of Health reported 973 new confirmed and probable cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Wednesday, below the state’s 21-day reported daily case rolling average of 1,052.

The batch of new cases brings the state’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 132,965.

26 additional deaths were reported Wednesday, bringing the state’s total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 4,324.

Hospitalizations are up by 116 compared to Tuesday’s data, making for a total of 14,083 reported hospitalizations statewide.

Admissions to intensive care units are up by 12, with a total of 3,054 ICU admissions throughout Ohio.

In Seneca County, the total number of cases stands at 401 as of Wednesday afternoon.

29 of those cases are considered to be active while 359 are considered to be recovered.

13 people have died with COVID-19 in Seneca County, and there are four currently hospitalized.
