The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,001 new confirmed and probable cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Tuesday, below the state’s 21-day reported daily case rolling average of 1,095.
The batch of new cases brings the state’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 139,485.
87 additional deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the state’s total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 4,506.
“This is the highest number of deaths reported in a day since early May,” Gov. Mike DeWine said during his briefing Tuesday. “And it’s the third highest number since the beginning of the pandemic.”
Hospitalizations are up by 103 compared to Monday’s data, making for a total of 14,481 reported hospitalizations statewide.
Admissions to intensive care units are up by 14, with a total of 3,111 ICU admissions throughout Ohio.
